Wedding Bells For Manny & The Dodgers? E-mail

I started my morning like the way I always do by brewing a hot cup of Starbucks coffee and going straight to CBSSports.com to check out how my fantasy golf team performed over the weekend.
I was very surprised to see that my "Fav 5" weren't good enough to place higher than 5th in my league titled "The Weekend Hacks". I was even more surprised that one of our league members was both smart & lucky enough to take Kenny Perry to win this past week's FBR Open & our league.

After setting my golf lineup for this weeks Buick Invitational, I clicked on CBS's MLB link to see what's been going on in the world of Baseball & wasn't surprised to learn that Manny turned down the Dodgers $25 million dollar offer for one year. Dodgers GM Nick Colleti & Manny's agent Scott Borus are just playing tug of war right now to see who's going to get pulled in the money moat first, but everyone should realize by now that Manny is more narcissistic than poker brat Phil Helmuth & won't settle for anything less than he thinks he's worth.
According to several Boston Red Sox team sources, Manny told his former teammates that he expected to get a 4 year $100 million dollar deal on the market for being Superman and carrying the Los Angeles Dodgers all the way to last year's NLCS Championship series.

What Manny didn't expect is the collapse of the banking industry for poor lending practices, Wall Street shorting the market to cover their steep losses & asses; along with millions of Americans losing their jobs because this country keeps teetering on a recession/depression see saw.

Another thing that Manny didn't see coming is Major League Baseball execs overlooking is his .396 Avg. with 17 homers, 53 RBI and a .743 slugging percentage in 53 games with Dodgers after he left Boston.

Are the Dodgers concerned that Manny is turning 37 in May?
Or that Manny is notoriously mediocre in his first year of a new deal?
Is the organization concerned that Manny may become a disruption in the clubhouse at some point during his contract and they'll be stuck with his me first attitude?
Or is it that there's players like Bobby Abreu & Adam Dunn left in the open market that are both productive players & will cost much less to make one of them part of the team.

Whatever the delay maybe, the Dodgers will inevitably sign Manny to a multi-year contract because they won't be a contender without him. Manny will accept their offer because there's no other team in the league that wants to get hitched to a high maintenance gold digging superstar athlete that's entering into the twilight of his career without a prenuptial agreement to protect their investment.

With that in mind, get your rice ready because it looks like Manny & the Dodgers will be married by the weekend! - Jimmy da Saint
