mini-bugOk.  There's no denying that it's a disappointing that LA experience a loss at the Staples Center to the Heat.  "A loss" is almost a euphemistic way of describing it... the Lakers were well and truly pounded.  There simply aren't any positives to take out of a loss like that.
But one thing the last 2-3 seasons have given me is a bit of perspective.

Perhaps not too great to run out clichés at this point in time, and I'm in no way making excuses (Miami were the better team on the day, no denying that)... but titles aren't won in December - even on Christmas Day.  Each of the last two seasons past there were times when the Lakers looked more like a lottery-bound team than a potential champion, yet we know how those seasons played out.

Bottom line?  Yes, LA's struggling to find a semblance of form, but they've done enough over the past few years to have a bit of faith built up.

I'm outta here for a week or so (family travels), but enjoy the season.  Happy New Year, and may 2011 be a purple 'n' gold year.
