Surprised?  I'm not.
Truth: while I was watching this, and as OJ Mayo missed two free throws that would have put the game beyond reach, I thought to myself, "Cool, set up for a Kobe-winner." And then, he did what he does very, very well.  Hit the game winner.  Helluva play set up by Phil Jackson, and wonderfully executed by Bryant.  The perfect pass from Odom, and an awesome screen by Pau Gasol on both brother Marc and Rudy Gay.

Definitely a play that would have elicited a smile from me had it occurred anywhere in the game, but to happen to give LA a one point lead with a mere 4.3 seconds to go?
Sheer poetry.
I can't tell you how much joy it gives me when Kobe rips out an opponent's heart in the last seconds, and leaves it still pulsing on the floor - especially in their house.
It's gotten to the stage of not only do I expect Kobe to pull out last-second heroics when needed, but I am confident he'll succeed.  How many teams have a player like that on their rosters?
