This is actually pretty cool...
Sprite and Lebron James are hosting a Slam Dunk Showdown in LA on May 22 during the Universal City Walk Street Festival. The Showdown is all about finding the best amateur dunkers in the area and taking them to compete against other non-pro, non-collegiate dunkers across the country.
Fans can compete in the Showdown by submitting videos online of themselves dunking and/or vote for their favorite dunkers on NBA.com/dunk.
Fan voting will help select the winners at each event as well as the top user submitted dunk videos online. Top dunkers will win cash prizes and have a chance to compete at NBA All-Star weekend in 2011.
Even if you're not a possible participant, but might be in the area - head over to the Universal City Walk Street Festival and take a look. Should be a bit of a spectacle!
