In the recent debacle with the double-booking of the Pepsi Center, LA's Staples Center has sprung to the rescue. WWE head-honcho Vince McMahon was still incredulous over the offers made to him from Kroenke Sports (who own both the Nuggets and the Pepsi Center).
"They bumped us right out of the building, hardly an apology. They didn't do anything for us at all, and the media was talking about someone has to write a check. They didn't want to write anything and they wanted to give us a Sunday night. And the name of the show is Monday Night Raw."
Sheesh...
When asked what the plans were for Monday night, McMahon replied,
"Well, it's real simple. We will be leaving Denver because we were forced out by Kroenke's organization - and unfortunately we will be leaving Denver, and fortunately we will be going to Los Angeles - home of the Lakers - at the Staples Center."
The Chairman also asserted that at some stage during the Monday Night Raw event there's to be a 5-on-5 match-up, you guessed it: the WWE's Lakers vs the WWE's Nuggets. No surprises on who's likely to win that match. Additionally, Mr McMahon will be either competing or confronting "Mr Stan Kroenke". Interesting stuff.
The WWE.
Where Amazing showmanship happens.
Awesome.
